Introduction

The Community of Yahweh World Wide is a Religious Organisation established in 1960 by divine intervention through the late Kohen Michael Nwobi Amakaeze. It is an Evangelical/Messianic Jewish Community built upon the principles of the faith of our fathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and their covenant with Yahweh Elohim. Her Doctrine is built upon the principles of righteousness and justice following the footsteps of Yahshua Messiah [Jesus Christ] who is the Head of this Community.

Like a mustard seed, the Community had a very humble beginning at Onitsha. On its inception, solely started by the founder, late Kohen Michael Nwobi Amakaeze. He was later joined by a few adherents. When the Nigerian Civil War was threatening, the founder had to move the Church to Nnobi, his home town. Amidst stiff opposition from his kinsmen who were incensed against him for abandoning his already successful trading business to pick up the Bible, Brother Mike [as he was then known] achieved wonderful expansion of the Church even during the Nigerian Civil War. Armed with the seven gifts of the Spirit, coupled with his personal charisma and unprecedented milk of human kindness, he won converts and followership among the high and low, rich and poor, elites and the scum of the society.

All flocked around Brother Mike for their personal and spiritual problems, and their quest for salvation. Between 1970 and 1985 the Church had grown nation wide with about 200 branches within Nigeria and Overseas. Due to the administrative and intellectual acumen of the founder and leader of the Church a very effective and efficient administrative machinery was put in place to monitor, coordinate and administer the headquarters, districts and branch missions. For effective co-ordination, the administrative headquarters of the Church was moved to Enugu in 1970.

From its modest beginning The Community of Yahweh has blossomed into an international Evangelical out-fit. Since the translation of her founder, Kohen M.N. Amakaeze in 1995, the Community has moved forward, spreading far along the West African Sub-region through Scientific Management. Today the Community has grown to 224 branches in Nigeria, 13 in Cameroun, one pilot mission each in the Equatorial Guinea, the Gambia, California, Texas, New York and London. At our annual biblical festivals, we always welcome an influx of pilgrims coming from Israel, Europe, the United States of America, Cameroun and the West African sub-region.
